Salmon Habitat Enhancement

These images show a portion of the existing 12′ penstock where a new branch was tied in to support a fish ladder, reopening upstream habitat to spawning salmon. The original penstock was laser scanned after concrete removal where the new section was to connect. The scan data allowed accurate design and pre-fabrication of the new piece, reducing costly field fit up requirements.

The original penstock (partially exposed) and surrounding area.

A closer view of the penstock showing the complex miters at the tie-in location. Welds and reinforcing rings shown in orange and yellow.
